4th of July in Midcoast Maine in Pictures

I was workin’ yesterday, but being a journalist gives me the privilege of being part of, and witnessing, some of the most exciting community happenings of the year. It’s true that a lot of times I have to bear witness to or explore the ramifications of terrible tragedies, lost hope and humanity’s utter and seemingly endless penchant for cruelty — but then, some days, I get to just have a ton of fun.

If you’ve never been to the Thomaston 4th of July parade, you’re really missing out because it’s quite a fun time — and I say this as someone who was in it — on foot, mind you, and with camera in hand. Here are some of my favorite shots of the day.

You can see the rest (and in color) here!

Have a safe and fun weekend!
